Монография освещает жизненный путь и содержит анализ научных исследований выдающегося отечественного ученого-психиатра второй половины XIX столетия, оставившего богатое научное на еле дне в важнейших разделах клинической и социальной психиатрии Она написана на основе многолетних поисковых исследований ее автора в архивах и путем получения сведений от оставшихся и живых потомков и лиц, близких к семье Кандинского, а также проведением углубленного изучения его научных трудов. В ней излагаются сведения о жизни В. X. Кандинского, среде, в которой он воспитывался, о его школьных годах и учебе на медицинском факультете Московского университета. Подробно освещается период его деятельности, когда он уже работал в качестве врача-психиатра. Далее дается характеристика его философских, исторических, психологических взглядов и анализируются психопатологические и физиологические исследования. Специально рассматриваются общие клинические воззрения ученого, его судебно-психиатрические и социально-психиатрические концепции. Монография рассчитана на врачей-психиатров и историков медицины.

The monograph is related to the analysis of the life and scientific activities of one of the most distinguished Russian scientist and psychiatrist of the second half of the XIX century, whose rich scientific legacy enriched clinical and social psychiatry. The book is written on the basis of a long-term study of the archives, by interviewing the living relatives and people from his closest environment, as well as by a deep study of his scientific works. The first part of the monograph is related to the life of Kandinskiy, his family, environment where he was brought up, to his school years and the period of his training in the Medical Faculty of the Moscow University. The period of his life when he worked as a psychiatrist is given in great detail. The second part of the monograph is related to his creative work, his philosophical, historical and psychological concepts. Of special interest are his general clinical ideas, forensic-psychiatric and social-psychiatric concepts Being a historical and psychiatric study the monograph has in view a wide range of psychiatrists-practitioners and professionals of boderline specialities, as well as physicians who take a special interest in problems of medical history. It is illustrated by photographs and photocopies of archive materials.
